Registration is NOW OPEN for the 2020-2021 Lafayette Theatre Academy Season

Finding Our Light…
A common phrase among theatre performers is “find your light.” Knowing how to move into the lighting provided on stage ensures that actors are clearly seen by the audience. This season, the Lafayette Theatre Academy is planning “outside the box” to ensure that our students are able to find their light and continue pursuing the talents and passions they have for the art of theatre.
The health and safety of our students is our primary concern as we move forward. We want all of our families to have flexible options that allow choices regarding levels of social interaction. In addition, LSPA is actively working to ensure the safety of everyone that enters our building and will be providing a detailed update of all of the precautions being set in place.
On-site classes will be available for all of our students (pre-K through 12th grade) and class content is being creatively altered to allow social distancing. We are also adding an online option for students who wish to participate and interact with other students and teachers from home. Even though many class times have been shortened and class sizes will be limited for safety, we are eagerly planning additional opportunities and methods of instruction that will enhance the training we offer.
We absolutely love challenges and look forward to amazing our students and community with all of the ways we are still able to enjoy the performing arts this coming season!
Do not miss the chance to be a part of this amazing program!

Broadway/Pop Private Voice Lessonswith Broadway performer Brenda Jean Hamilton
Scheduled by appointment.
Brenda Jean Hamilton has over 15 years as a professional performer. In addition to starting her career as a Radio City Rockette, she was cast in numerous regional productions and performed with Disney Cruise Lines.  In 2001 she joined Actor’s Equity Association and remains part of the professional stage actor’s union. Her National Equity Tours include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and Wicked (Broadway performances, in addition to touring).
Brenda’s Broadway and professional background allows her to have a unique insight into the needs of her students, especially those pursuing a career in musical theatre. Her educational training in voice instruction has allowed her to guide students to sing Broadway/Pop styles in a healthy and functional way. Training with Brenda will allow students to develop their solo artistry, while strengthening their head voice, chest voice and mix. Students will also learn healthy technique for Broadway style belting, a singing style essential for aspiring theatre performers.
Brenda teaches in a nurturing and non-intimidating way. She welcomes all levels of students, beginner or advanced, ages 9-99.
