The Suffering Artist Presents

Death by Carbon: Drawings by Sarah Swanson & Amber Stidham

We think that pencil work, drawing and draftsmanship are vastly underappreciated in today’s art world and this exhibit is our effort to counter that trend. On March 25th, we want to celebrate drawing by putting the works of Sarah Swanson and Amber Stidham on display.

We called the show Death by Carbon to mimic the same feeling when we call a decadent dessert ‘Death by Chocolate’ or something similar. That phrase invokes an image of a euphoric release caused by the dessert, which is how we feel about drawing. It was our earliest artistic expression as children and is still our favorite as adults.
