Sunsets at Sweetland Kicks Off This Friday!

Join us for the Sunsets at Sweetland series sponsored by Downtown LaGrange Development Authority. Live music by Hillside Front Porch Collective beginning at 7 pm. At 9 pm, Rogue One – A Star Wars story, will be shown on Sweetland’s great lawn. This is a picnic-approved event! Bring your own food and drinks, blankets and chairs to enjoy this family friendly event. Chairs available on a first come, first served basis. FREE admission!

Wild Leap draft beer will be available, with a happy hour from 6-7 pm featuring $4 pints! Get some yummy treats from local vendors Holloway Pork Skins, Frios, Kona Ice, and Amy’s Treats!

Make a custom tie-dyed Sweetland shirt for only $10! Cornhole and Kan Jam will be setup on the lawn for kids.

Placing Flags on the graves of Veterans

The members of the Veterans Organizations that make up the West Georgia Veterans Council, with the assistance of the many volunteers make an effort to place a Flag on the grave of all veterans buried in Meadoway Gardens, Southview, and Shadowlawn Cemeteries. Disney’s Lion King

Lafayette Theatre Company and Young Singers of West Georgia come together to provide a two-week musical theatre camp for students 2nd through 8th grade. Camp starts at 9:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm on week days. Students will learn about acting, dance, music and puppetry, all building up to a showcase performance Saturday, June 17th. Final performances are open to the public.

LaGrange Memorial & Hogansville Public Library Events for May & June

The Carnegie welcomes back Sam’s Path Petting Zoo on June 1 at 10:00 a.m. at First Avenue Park. This educational show features exotic animals like lemurs and kangaroos and includes hands-on time for children with the animals.

On June 13 at 10:00 a.m. singer/songwriter Jennifer Daniels will provide an energetic, interactive music program. Jennifer is a member of The Learning Groove, a company founded by Eric Litwin of “Pete the Cat” fame. She will be performing one of his stories as well as teaching your children songs in different languages and getting them excited about reading and the arts.
