In this wonderful story, Santa’s helpers are putting the final touches on presents as a young bird named Max and his family head south for the winter. When Max gets blown off course during a snowstorm, he ends up alone and lost at the North Pole. As he tries to make his way home, his adventure begins when he encounters friendly caroling worms, dancing poinsettias, Nutcracker soldiers, mischievous mice and an evil Rat King.This delightful holiday production will make children wide-eyed with delight and warm even the smallest of hearts.

Small Business Saturday

Shop Small Y’all! Small Business Saturday is on Saturday, November 25th in Downtown Newnan!

Small Business Saturday is an annual shopping tradition dedicated to supporting small businesses across the country. Small Business Saturday was found by American Express in 2010 and is celebrated every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This event supports the local economy and promotes our community.

Participating businesses include: Arthur Murphey Florist, Blue Fern Merchant, Blue Moon Boutique, Corner Arts Gallery Studio & Gift Shop, Dolled, Downtown Olive & Kitchen Supply Co., Dragonfly Running Company, Ellie Mack Boutique, Fine Lines Art & Framing, Gillyweed, Greenhouse Mercantile, Grit & Grace Studio to Streetwear, Kendra’s, Kendra’s 2, Kyle Kahn Studios, Let Them Eat Toffee, Mayfair on the Square, Mimi and Me Boutique, Morgan Jewelers, Newnan Mercantile, Polish Me Pretty Nail Salon & Boutique, Smart Solutions, Inc.,The Alamo, The Boyd Gallery, Typo Market, Wildwood Trader.

Sweetland On Ice 

Beginning November 17th through February 19th the Great Lawn at Sweetland Amphitheatre will host an outdoor ice skating rink, provided  and operated by Ice Days Outdoor Skating Rinks. Join us for this Grand Opening this Friday, November 17th at 5 p.m.!

Bring your family and friends to this winter wonderland and enjoy holiday decorations, a spectator section with heaters to watch the ice skating action, affordable concessions, visits from Santa and the Sweetland Beer Garden – a heated tent serving local craft beer and wine.

Sweetland on Ice will marry wonderfully with many of the holiday happenings hosted by the Downtown LaGrange Development Authority including complimentary carriage rides through downtown, the annual Holiday Retail Sip & Shop, and visits from Santa and his elves to the Downtown Square. Please check the Downtown LaGrange calendar of events for schedules and times.

Cost

FAQs for Sweetland On Ice:

Q: Where do we park?
A: Sweetland’s West Gate Parking Lot will be open and free to the public for parking. Spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis. Please check out this online map for directions and all parking options: http://www.sweetland.events/plan-your-visit/directions/

Q: Where do we enter?
A: The Main Gate Pavilion entrance at 110 Smith Street will be the only gate open to enter the ice skating rink. The West Gate entrance will be closed to ensure only ice skating patrons are entering the amphitheatre.

Q: May we bring blankets and chairs?
A: Yes, you may bring blankets and chairs. Ice Days will provide a limited number of round tables and chairs in the spectator section, but patrons are able to bring chairs and blankets for lawn viewing. One chair or beach-size towel/blanket is welcome per person. All chair sizes allowed. Please be courteous of those around you.

Q: Are outside food & beverages allowed?
A: No. Ice Days will be selling affordable concessions and beverages. The Sweetland Beer Garden will offer a variety of 12-15 craft beers, red & white wine, and craft sodas. .

Q: When will the Sweetland Beer Garden be open?
A: The Sweetland Beer Garden will be open on Thursdays and Fridays from 5pm until 9pm and Saturdays from 4pm until 9:30pm. No outside food or beverages are allowed inside of the tent.

Q: Will merchandise be available?
A: Yes. Sweetland and Ice Days will be selling beanies, scarves, gloves and hand warmers. Ice Days will also offer refillable cups and other great merchandise from the concession stand. Sweetland merchandise will be available in the Sweetland Beer Garden tent.
