Cemetery Tour: Hills and Dales history

In times past, the cemetery was a place of resort, it served as a sort of public park. Local history and stories were passed from one generation to the next while strolling through the monuments. Roaring Through the Night

When the lights go down, the adventure begins! The Legacy Museum doors have been locked for the night, but if you know the secret knock, you may be allowed inside to dance the night away! Don’t be a wet blanket! Roll down your stockings and drive your jalopy on over to enjoy a night of narrow escapes from the G-men. The Summer 2018 Sleepover at Legacy Museum After Dark will be the bee’s knees. This two-day event will be for children between the ages of 9-12. Hills & Dales Estate Photography Contest

During the months of March through July, we invite contestants of all ages to submit photographs taken at the estate via the website. Categories include Landscape, Plant & Flower, Architecture, People and Wildlife, and all submissions will be done online. Contestants are encouraged to submit up to three pictures, and winners will be announced at a special reception on August 14. The Grand Prize Winner will receive $250, and category winners will be awarded $100 each. Winning photographs will be exhibited in the Visitor Center through September for all estate visitors to enjoy. For more information and to submit your photo, visit hillsanddales.org/contest.
