Who We Are: 25 Years 1993-2018
As we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Southern Conservation Trust in 2018, we take a look at where we’ve come in the last 25 years! The Southern Conservation Trust was founded in 1993 by a group of Fayette County residents that were eager to preserve greenspace in Peachtree City as it developed. Jerry Peterson, one of our founding members, is still a member of the SCT Board of Directors today. It all began with just one property, Line Creek Nature Area – a property owned by the City of Peachtree City and managed by the Southern Conservation Trust, and was shortly followed by Flat Creek Nature Area and Sams Lake Bird Sanctuary in 1997. Fall Outdoor Education
Fall is here, and the weather is cooling off, now’s the time to join the Southern Conservation Trust and our amazing environmental education leaders for our fall educational programs! We offer a variety of outdoor programs at our six public nature areas in Fayette County.
